Kris Mason started doing stand up comedy in 1992 and honed his skills while performing for clubs in the greater southwest including The Tempe Improv, Knuckle Heads, Finney Bones, The Last Laugh, Laffs Comedy Café and The Comedy Spot.
He is a member of the Phoenix Film Critics Society, and writes a column called Reel-2-Real that is published in several East Valley publications. Kris’s wit and humor are always a constant in his observations and writing style. He was also heard on The BS Factor, every Friday from 7am to 8am for “Film Friday” during the morning drive time on All Comedy Radio, 1480am.
Kris has opened for national Headliners including, Jeff Altman, Charles Fleischer (the voice of Roger Rabbit), Greg Proops (TV’s Who’s Line is it Anyway) and Hugh Fink (TV’s Saturday Night Live) He has also worked with such local favorites as Pablo Francisco, Mark Cordez, Michael Finney, Ron Morey, and Bob Kubota.
Kris has participated in various benefits for charities in the Phoenix area including Children with Aid Foundation, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. His list of corporate clients includes Microsoft, Wells Fargo, ASU and Embry Riddle Aeronautics University and Motorola.
For three seasons he was the producer of Kris Mason’s Off (off) Broadway Comedy Showcase at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, offering a 150 seat venue for local rising talents and providing much needed, professional stage time. For the last two years Kris has produced The Comedy Underground – Live at Vito’s allowing comics more Valley stage time in a more intimate setting (60 seats).
